Cran-Pear Oatmeal

Serving Size: 4 (six-ounce servings)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups 2% milk
  • 1 tablespoon Filippo Berio Olive Oil or Filippo Berio Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats, uncooked
  • 3/4 cup chopped pear
  • 2 tablespoons sugar or equivalent sugar substitute
  • 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Cooking Instructions

  1. Combine milk, Filippo Berio Olive Oil or Filippo Berio Extra Virgin Olive Oil, cranberries, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in medium saucepan.
  2. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add oats and pear.
  4. Simmer, uncovered, 5 to 6 minutes, stirring occasionally until most of liquid has been absorbed.
  5. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar, nuts, and vanilla.
