Picadillo A La Habanera

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 2 potatoes
  • 1/2 cup tomato puree
  • 1/4 cup red wine
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
  • Olives, to taste
  • Salt and pepper

Directions:

  • In a sauce pan over medium heat, add the olive oil, onion, red bell pepper and garlic; cook for 3-5 minutes.
  • Add the ground beef and tomato puree to the sauce pan; cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add the remaining ingredients to the sauce pan and cook for 10 more minutes.
  • Serve alongside white rice, plantains and sprinle with fresh parsley to garnish.
