Pull-Apart Herb and Garlic Cheese Bread with Borden Cheese

Bridget Maloney

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1½ cups Borden® Whole Milk Mozzarella Shreds
  • 3 tbsp. chopped fresh herbs (Italian parsley, basil, rosemary, oregano would all be tasty) or 3 tsp. of dried herbs when fresh aren’t available
  • 1 garlic clove, finely minced (or substitute with ½ tsp. of garlic powder)
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • ¼ cup Borden® Finely Shredded Aged Parmesan Shreds (optional)
  • 1 egg beaten with a splash of water
  • Marinara sauce for serving

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 435 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray with cooking spray.
  2. Portion dough into 30-half oz. pieces of dough
  3. Stuff each dough ball with a heaping teaspoon of mozzarella cheese and wrap the dough around the cheese. Place each ball onto the baking sheet with the seam side down.
  4. Arrange the dough balls into the shape of a tree for the holidays (or whatever shape you prefer).
  5. Brush with egg wash.
  6. Bake for 20-25 mins, rotating halfway through cooking time until the dough balls are golden brown. Sprinkle with Borden® Finely Grated Parmesan Shreds for extra cheesy goodness the last 5 minutes of baking if desired. While the bread is baking, prepare the garlic and herb butter by chopping the garlic and adding to the melted butter with the chopped (or dried) herbs. Remove from the oven and brush with melted garlic butter.
  7. Serve with warmed marinara and garnish with more fresh basil.
