Taco Sliders with Ortega

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1lb Ground Beef
  • ½ C Diced White Onion
  • 1 packet Ortega Hot & Spicy Taco Seasoning (1 Tsp reserved)
  • 1 C Ortega Homestyle Salsa
  • 12 Slider Buns, sliced in half
  • 2 C Shredded Mexican Cheese Blend
  • 2 Tbsp Melted Butter
  • Cilantro, for serving

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prepare a 9X13 baking dish.
  2. Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and onion. Cook until onion is soft and beef is browned through.
  3. Mix in Ortega Hot & Spicy Seasoning Packet (reserving 1 tsp for later) and Salsa. Cook according to package directions and remove from heat.
  4. Place the bottom half of the slider buns in the bottom of a prepared 9×13 baking dish. Spread the meat mixture in an even layer over the bottom buns. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the meat mixture and top with the remaining slider bun halves.
  5. Mix melted butter and reserved seasoning mix until combined. Generously brush the mixture over the tops of the slider buns.
  6. Cover with foil and bake at 350 for 15 – 20 minutes, removing the foil for the last 2-3 minutes of baking.
  7. Sprinkle with cilantro
