Easter is almost here! We know that it may be hard to celebrate with your whole family like usual, but that doesn't mean you can't still celebrate at home! Enjoy the holiday with your whole family at home with our favorite simple and fun crafts to do with your children!

Egg Carton Spring Chicks from "Typically Simple"

You'll need:

  • egg cartons
  • acrylic paint & brush
  • glue, scissors, marker
  • construction paper

Directions:

  1. Cut apart two egg holders from the carton and trim off the excess on the edges.

  2. Glue the two pieces together

  3. Paint and allow to dry.

  4. Add a beak and some eyes.

 

Bunny Party Hats from "The House That Lars Built"

You'll need:

  • cardstock in various pastel shades
  • scissors
  • permanent marker
  • glue dots
  • craft knife
  • twine
  • Party hat template

Directions

  1. Make the party hats with this template. Any classic party hat template will do.

  2. Cut out eyes and noses for the bunny with simple circles and triangles and long thin pieces for the whiskers.

  3. Attach the eyes and nose with glue dots.

  4. Draw in a simple mouth with your permanent marker.

  5. Cut slits in the side of the hat with your craft knife.

  6. Cut out ears and fold at the bottom about ¼” up.

  7. Insert the ears and secure with tape inside.

  8. Attach twine to the sides of the inside of the hat to tie around the head. Secure with tape.

 

Easter Eggs from "McCormick"

You'll need:

  • 1 dozen large eggs
  • Vinegar
  • Assorted Food Color & Egg Dye

Directions

  1. Gently place eggs in single layer in large saucepan. Add enough cold water to cover eggs by 1 inch. Cover. Bring just to boil on high heat. Remove from heat. Let stand 12 minutes. (Adjust time up or down by 3 minutes for each size larger or smaller).

  2. Pour off hot water and rapidly cool eggs by running them under cold water (or place in ice water) until completely cooled.

  3. Mix 1/2 cup boiling water, 1 teaspoon vinegar and 10 to 20 drops food color in a cup to achieve desired colors. Repeat for each color. Dip hard-cooked eggs in dye for about 5 minutes. Use a slotted spoon, wire egg holder or tongs to add and remove eggs from dye. Allow eggs to dry.

 

Bunny Rabbit Handprints from "Crafty Morning"

You'll need:

  • White/pink washable paint
  • A hand
  • Construction paper
  • A black sharpie
  • A paintbrush

Directions:

  1. Start by painting the child's hand with white paint except the thumb. Have them squeeze their pinky/ring finger together and their pointer/middle finger together when pressing down to make bunny ears.
  2. Add pink paint on the bunny's ears and nose. After it dries, draw a bunny face and whiskers with the black sharpie.
