Believe it or not, it is extremely easy to create your own Jenga game right in your backyard. With the thrill and excitement of the popular game, your family will have a blast playing it! With a quick run to your local hardware store, all you’ll need is:
- 54 feet of 2x4
- Measuring tape
- A pencil
- A saw
- Sand paper
Once you have your 2x4s, use the measuring tape and pencil to mark about 10.5 inches. That will be the size of your Jenga pieces. Once you have your pieces marked, carefully cut them out with your saw (make sure to be safe and wear eye protection). You should end up with 54 pieces. Once you have them cut out, sand down any rough edges and start stacking!
Homemade Slip n’ Slide
One of my all-time favorite summer activities as a kid was a slip n’ slide! Running up to it and sliding fast on my stomach gave me the best rush. Some slip n’ slides can be a little pricey, but luckily you don’t have to worry about that! Check out how to make your own! Here’s what you’ll need:
- A roll of thick, light colored plastic from your local hardware store (light colored is better than black because it will not get as hot)
- Garden hose or sprinkler (don’t feel like you have to get a sprinkler if you don’t have one)
- Bottle of shampoo
Once you have all of the materials, all you need to do is find the perfect spot for it! Once you find your spot, unroll the plastic and secure it to your lawn with the stakes (make sure it is really secure). Spread some shampoo across the plastic and start hosing it down! The plastic will become very slippery so be careful! And just like that, your homemade slip n’ slide is complete! Get some speed and have fun sliding across it!
